Job Description

Our client, a freight forwarding company, seeks to fill the role of Workshop Supervisor required to work in the bus workshops or depots based on rotating shifts. S/He possesses excellent supervisory skills and is able to coordinate work activities across multiple maintenance teams.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily maintenance operations for all buses and trucks.

  • Develop and organize maintenance plans, schedules, and required resources.

  • Coordinate work assignments and allocate manpower effectively.

  • Offer technical guidance and support to mechanics.

  • Ensure job cards are created for all buses and trucks received each day.

  • Submit spare parts requisitions to the procurement and stores departments.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records for all vehicles.

  • Manage roadside recovery operations for vehicles involved in breakdowns or accidents.

  • Supervise contractors handling bodywork, painting, and major repairs (e.g., engines, gearboxes) to ensure compliance with safety, operational, and quality standards.

  • Conduct maintenance and workshop audits to evaluate quality and performance.

  • Ensure adherence to Workplace Health and Safety policies and regulations.

  • Monitor and drive team performance to meet established KPIs.

  • Oversee workshop housekeeping and ensure the availability of tools, equipment, and consumables.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance fleet maintenance efficiency.

  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members.

  • Prepare daily inspection and maintenance reports for management, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 4+ years’ proven experience in vehicle maintenance, mechanical repairs, and workshop supervision.

  • Prior experience with heavy commercial vehicles is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults.

  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
