The Role:

Reports to: Group CFO (Functionally) and Country Head - Burundi (Administratively)

• Prepares monthly /quarterly and yearly Management Accounts and broader statistical reports that feed into the board pack, providing insights on business performance
• Ensures timely and accurate bookkeeping of all company financial transactions are undertaken in observance of GAAP, IAS, and IFRS
• Ensures proper working capital management in the business thereby ensuring that the business can meet its obligations as and when they fall due. This includes but is not limited to credit control, optimal inventory levels management, and proper scheduling of supplier payments
• Calculates Landed Costs of imports and supports Commercial teams to set prices as per the company pricing policy
• Coordinates trade finance facilities with commercial banks and foreign suppliers to ensure timely processing of Letters of Credit and other related instruments
• Ensures sufficient deployment and enforcement of internal controls in the business to mitigate against inherent risks
• Ensures compliance to country laws through timely, accurate computation and payment of taxes & statutory payments
• Coordinates annual external audits, liaising with the appointed external auditors
• Assists in automation of accounting processes with a view to attaining seamless and efficient systems

The Candidate:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce/Accounting/Business
• Fully qualified CPA with a solid financial accounting background
• 5 years of experience as a Financial Controller in a reputable company
• Technical knowledge and practice of accounting standards IFRS and IAS
• Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel, Powerpoint and ERP Systems
• Energetic, agile with the ability to handle pressure and deliver assignments in time-constrained environment
• Fluency in English is a must, working knowledge of French is a desirable for this role.

Salary: 3000 USD - 3500 USD gross and other experts benefits
