Supervisor - Packaging Maintenance
Reports to: Process Reliability Superintendent
Job Summary:
Supervise and coordinate the maintenance activities of packaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability. Lead a team of maintenance fitters to achieve production goals while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical
- Oversee daily maintenance operations for packaging equipment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, FDA).
- Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate performance.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
- Communication
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime.
- Communicate equipment status and maintenance plans.
- Provide technical guidance to production staff.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings.
- Report maintenance metrics and KPIs.
- Administrative
- Manage maintenance budgets and inventory.
- Order parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Technical diploma or certification in maintenance-related field.
- 5 to 10 years of maintenance experience in packaging or manufacturing.
- 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience.
